Biography

Jerry Wainwright was a San Francisco poster and photographic artist who worked for the Family Dog in 1968. He co-created FD-131, the Pink Floyd Avalon poster of August 2-4, 1968, with Bob Schnepf, and contributed to a run of other 1968 Family Dog pieces -- often supplying photography for posters and postcards whose artwork was by other hands (his name appears among the artists in catalogued 1968 Family Dog poster groups, and the V&A holds a Family Dog poster credited to him). Documentation is thin beyond these credits; like Bob Schnepf, he was part of the Avalon's second-string design pool in its last year. Honest gap: no biographical record was confirmable from reachable sources.

A late-period Family Dog contributor, active in the Avalon's final year, whose best-known credit is the FD-131 Pink Floyd poster.
