Sunday, September 3, 1967 was the last of three nights for the Miller Blues Band, Mother Earth and Bukka White. The bill is the one this chronicle told from its opening on September 1, and its third act remains the reason to look twice: Bukka White, born in Mississippi around 1909, who had recorded for Vocalion in 1930 and for the Library of Congress at Parchman Farm in 1939, closing out a psychedelic ballroom weekend in 1967 beneath two bands whose members had not been born when he made his first records.
